If the Ahamkara are the worms that Xi Ro and her sisters ingested to become immortal hive. Then how is it that the gaurdians hunted and made them extinct. Not to mention there are pieces of gear in the game that use bones from Ahamkara. Skull of Dire Ahamkara, Young Ahamkara Spine and the the Sealed Ahamkara hunter gloves for TTK alos if i'm not mistaken the Bones of Eao are Ahamkara bones aswell.. Not to mention during "The Great Ahamkara hunt" The tower/vanguard ddemed them to powerful due to the wishes they granting back firing constantly and had the guardians hunt them until extinction.

 • I think the Ahamkara were hosts to the Worms, just like the Hive are. In the Book of Sorrows, Oryx expresses anger towards "The Dragons" and implies that they have also gained the attention of "[their] gods". Oryx's sister mimicked the Worms' "Oh [person] mine" after conversing with one, so it is likely that the Ahamkara mimicked them as well. An excerpt from boom XLV: "THE DRAGONS. Our gods should be ours alone. Their smug freedom is an insult to me. I’d shut them all in cells. Bring them to me!"

 • Thank you I was getting confused by this it is making sense now. So they were basically asked to achieve the same thing the hive were told to do and the Hive didn't like it to much.

 • It seems that way. It doesn't quite explain why Oryx's servants never tried to "take" the Ahamkara for Oryx before we hunted them down, but it explains most of it. It may also explain why the Ahamkara bones speak to us; the first Worm Auresh (the Proto-Hive who would become Auryx, then Oryx) and his sisters found was dead, but still spoke to them clear as day. I believe it said "Oh vengeance mine" or something at one point.

 • The Ahamkara weren't actually hunted to extinction: they fooled the Tower. They are creatures from the Void, and as such, they can change their shape. Ever wonder why the bones on Young Ahamkara's Spine move? Or why the flavor text for the Bones of Eao is "Defy extinction,"?

 • Along with the aforementioned tidbit that they are shape-shifters who most likely became their own "bones", the final paragraphs of the card detailing the Great Ahamkara Hunt (Legends 3 I believe) say:
And thus the Ahamkara were made extinct, their call silenced, their solipsistic flatteries erased, their great design - if it ever existed - broken. Of this you can be assured, oh reader mine.
Who else but the Ahamkara use the phrase "oh _____ mine"?
