It may not be considered a mmo, but it has mmo qualities. One of those being that new expansions update older content. So no you don't have access to nightfalls because you don't have access to better gear because you don't have TTK. But you still have TDB, HOW and the vanilla destiny story missions

Yet they didn't do this the first 2 times. They only locked people out of the new content. Not things they had already payed for.
