So I was screwing around on patrol in Venus. At one point, just to see if it would work, I hit an goblin with just the handle of the sword, as I had no Heavy ammo. Turns out, the handle one-shorted the goblin.
Then, I tried it in crucible, and it takes 2 hits with the handle to kill (though it doesn't have very good range).
I'm not sure why this works, or even if it's supposed to work, but it's AWESOME. Is there any more humiliating way to get killed than with just the handle of a sword? Rhetorical question: the answer is no.
Also, I don't have video of this, just try it yourself.
P.S. To everyone I killed by this method 3 minutes into the game, please don't report me
Edit: Apparently this is intentional. IDGAF, I still like it.

No different than regular melee accept 3rd person...
-
You know what else takes two hits to kill? Your melee
-
If you're doing the sword quest that rewuires 25 guardian kills with the sword, just use the hilt, much easier than waiting for heavy.
-
I'm confused, what is the exploit?
-
Can you kill Skolas using only the Sword Handle? I want to see if that's possible. Probably is
-
congrats for climbing out from beneath that rock
-
"exploit" I don't think you know that that word means.

Edited by GhostChild808: 9/21/2015 1:26:32 AMThe humiliating way for me to die in Crucible was that the spawn flipped on First Light on Control. I tested out my new 1,000 Yard Stare sniper on it, scoped in towards C flag and B flag and I was struck twice by a guy who had the collector's edition, Nightstalker danced on me and teabagged me. XD My team ended up winning that one cuz I was being a sniper noob. Went 26.0 in that game. XD

Hitting a guardian with the hilt in crucible is like using a titans melee. No range at all.
-
It's not really any different to a double Melee Why are you so overexcited?
-
It's just like an energy sword in halo. While the energy sword may be at 0% you can still kill people with the hilt. Same concept.
-
If you shoot a goblin with a sidearm he won't shield
-
it's like the broken sword hilt (?) in Dark Souls
-
Dude, calm your tits. It's the same damage as a basic melee, I'm not sure how this is unexpected.
-
Its not an exploit. There's a clear animation of your character wiffing on the swing. It was completely intentional
-
Parrying is a cool mechanic
-
Seeing as melee is a 2 hit in crucible, it's not broken
-
It's a game mechanic....that's actually part of the exotic sword quest is to kill people in crucible with the hilt
-
Not an exploit lol
-
You can do this in Halo too so it's game mechanic
-
If you're trying to get the crucible kills: Weaken with primary, then switch to your sword and hit em. Doesn't have ammo, but it'll still count as a kill.
