The difference is, it's an expansion, not an add-on. The taken king is like a new Destiny. It's twice the price, way more content. Keeping people who aren't contributing up to par with those who are isn't fair to anyone. Edit: we aren't buying a couple maps and strikes this time around, we're buying a whole new experience. The leveling is different, the mechanics are different. Everything has changed.
