Destiny is a game that is both a product and a service at the same time. You still have access to the product you paid for - all missions, strikes, and raids. They have stopped supporting certain services for players who did not purchase TTK, them being: curated weekly activites (heroic and Nightfall strikes), Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, leveling and vendor economy, etc. If you expected to have the vanilla disc supported forever, that's just ignorant of how a persistent world game operates.

  • the vanilla should be supported for the lifetime of the product ( Destiny ). When Destiny 2 comes out, that will all obviously change. However, I had more than just the vanilla. I also bought the season pass. And, the usual term for supporting software based on a Proprietary Software License is one year. How long has House of Wolves been out?

  • The definition of support is completely blurred in a game like Destiny. It is not technically feasible to have discrete tiers of endgame content based on what a particular player's last content purchase was. Besides, all of this is academic anyway, because it's talking about group content in a community that has by and large moved on to new content. Even if there was a "legacy Nightfall" option, I doubt many people would be able to find a team in the first place.
