I agree. it isn't the same at all. We all paid for the right to play the various strike playlists, the heroic strike, the daily heroics, and the nightfall. It has been this way since the start, and they removed content, thus devaluing all our purchases. It's fine if you want to add to the game, but you should never take away from the game. Not being able to do a strike one week because of the strike being an expansion strike is one thing, but this is ridiculous. Also, with the last 2 expansions, they let everyone get to max level. Why is it different this time? Greed, plain and simple.
Just to add a more extreme argument, what if they locked off the entire game unless you bought the expansion? According to their EULA, which is NOT law, that would be within their right. Would people still say the same, and say blah blah blah, EULA EULA EULA, it's fine?
It would be like having your Windows 8, and having a chunk of features deactivated on Windows 8, until you purchased the 8.1 upgrade. Yes, I know 8.1 was free, but it is the same type of comparison. This is not Destiny 2, it is still Destiny 1.
Now, if they inevitably shut down the servers, that is different. Guaranteed the Destiny 1 servers will shut down shortly after Destiny 2 goes live, given Activision and Bungie's track record of not giving 2 shits about anyone.
