Man they butchered the game for people who didn't buy TTK. Destiny was never advertised to be a subscription based game, and no other console release (to my knowledge) has done this to gamers who opted to avoid DLCs.
I've purchased every DLC but that doesn't make it right now they treat those who didn't buy it.
