The deep stone crypt card always intrigued me. Once I knew it was about the subroutine that first gave consciousness to an exo, I looked at the words differently. Particularly the fighting of the army. Some exos it seems, a minority, simply walk to the tower. The others, face an army they must defeat to get to the tower and often fail, multiple times
I've wondered if the imagery of this card speaks to how successful the writing of the mind copy to exo frame was. IE: those that walked, the routine successfully wrote the mind copy on first attempt. Those that battle? The routine was not successful and it took multiple attempts/wipes.
And the fact that the army is full people the exo knew? Maybe the exo were loaded with multiple mind copies (like the 227), in hopes of increasing odds that one would successfully write to the exo. And when they don't, the multiple mind copies are in conflict with each other, thus the "battle".
