The Collector's Edition has a bit of Cayde's personal thoughts, and he says that he remembers working at Clovis and Ishtar with Maya Sundaresh, and visiting Saturn as flesh and bone. He remembers collapsing when everyone else did.

Don't worry I know ruin though maybe cayde does not remember who he was before he was an Exo but gets flashbacks or dreams about himself as Dr shim though from the grimoire they don't seem to far apart in terms of character
