The addiction comes from the surge of dopamine released in the brain when thc is introduced to the system. Thc is the actual cause of the addiction; pot is the vessel of said addiction. Wet can debate back and forth all we want on whether or not pot can be considered addictive, but it still remains that it contains an addictive chemical. If you want to split hairs and say that thc is addictive and not pot, then go ahead. Pot still contains it, and as such can be considered addictive.
