No they don't. That was a bad video game quote. Doing the same thing multiple times often is what it takes to finally succeed.

Not true actually. The majority believe there is no such thing as randomness but the universe is on a fundamental level random. From scales of massive sizes down to the quantum level everything is filled with random uncontrolled events.
