LEGALIZE MARIJUANA

I mean why not? It is really not all that bad... It obviously have medical purposes It is practically impossible to overdose Marijuana is not addictive As dangerous as Heroin and LSD.... no... The only gateway Marijuana would lead you to is the fridge... If marijuana makes you dumb, you're dumb for thinking that Tobacco and Alcohol is waaaaaay more toxic than marijuana Tobacco lobbyist, Alcohol lobbyist, Pharmaceutical lobbyist are the ones fighting the legalization of marijuana to protect their own profits. Considering that we live in a country where the economy thrives from competition, yet these companies are pumping money into to the government to prevent competition to take place. Remember that the only thing dangerous about marijuana is getting caught with it http://www.buzzfeed.com/craigsilverman/heres-the-truth-about-6-common-claims-about-the-dangers-of-p?utm_term=.kyVya8kom#.ibRL7lb5k

    • It comes down to the individual person and its effects on whoever it is. Some people who do it are stupid with it and end up becoming lazy asses. But people that I know do it are not lazy and my friend does it all the time but had the highest grades in school that he has had in a long time last year. But truthfully any smoke that you inhale is not going to be healthy in the long run.

    • Even if the plant isn't harmful, smoke inhalation is.

      • That must be what caused Xur to come to the Tower without any weapons to sell. As he was grabbing three pieces of armor that no one needed, he saw that his Marijuana provider left him a bag of Marijuana under the door. Xur walked over to the bag, picked it up, and walked over to his Marijuana smoking chair. He sat down and promptly began to smoke. After sitting there in a daze for an hour he realizes that it's time to leave for the Tower. Picking up his bag labelled, "Bag o' Trolls," he hops in his ship and heads for the Tower. When Xur arrived at the Tower he realized that he forgot to bring a weapon. He thought to himself, "I am here to troll the Guardians. They won't notice the absence of a weapon from my selection this week."

Tbh "the tobacco is legal and worse for you than marijuana" is stupid because tobacco shouldn't be legal either, it kills so many people. I'm just glad it's getting phased out.

        • Marijuana has serious negative affects on humans. The chemicals added over history to marijuana crops have literally laced it with poison. Do some research on the negativity of it, it's not hard to see why it's illegal in most areas. Also. Using buzz feed as a credible source is like believing everything your dad told you as a small, small child.

              • Impossible to overdose? Go look up the amount of children who've been rushed to E.R.s from edible pot snacks since it's been pseudo-legalized in some places. Marijuana not addictive? Doesn't make you dumb? I suppose kids these days have never seen a burn out. That's the problem with so many little kids playing this game, pot is still "cool" and they feel compelled to post about how "awesome" it is.

                • Advantages.... Lower pot related crimes (trafficking), Lower instances of possession charges (frees up courts for more serious crimes), Revenue (Colorado posted 75mil went into their coffers in first year alone) Disadvantages.... Pregnant women (who for example take pot for nausea) may cause damage to fetuses. From cognitive problems to behavioral issues. Teens can damage their pre frontal cortex. Also leaves them more susceptible to schizophrenia. It is a neurotoxin after all. 1 in 11 adults will develop an addiction to pot. 1 in 6 teens. By addiction I mean a reliance on daily use. This compares to 1 in 12 for alcohol. That's right... more addicting than alcohol! But hey no one tokes and drives right? I quote "After alcohol, cannabis is the second most widely used impairing drug in the world, and many Canadians drive after using cannabis. The rate of cannabis use in BC drivers is particularly high. A 2008 BC survey in the Lower Mainland and on Vancouver Island found that 8.1% of drivers had been drinking and 10.4% tested positive for drugs, including 4.6% for cannabis." -BC Medical Journal So in an area where it is not legal stoned drivers accounted for more than 1/2 of the percentage of drunk drivers. That was in 2008. Pot use/ acceptance has gone up considerably since then. Who knows what the current numbers are. I love people who claim that it is natural thus non harmful. So is belladonna, castor beans (makes ricin), oleander (yes that plant grown around schools) etc. etc. There are piles of plants that grow naturally but are poisonous. And while yes some (very rare) animals eat weed in the wild they are far and few between. Those that do don't go for seconds. Just like other poisonous plants. My biggest issue is how accepted it already is. I see more people comfortable with having a puff in the morning before work, while driving, walking down the street etc than I do with say a beer in hand. It is that level of acceptance I have issues with. One joint affects a person more than 1 beer. And these people then go to work, drive etc like this. Mark my words.... the societal issues that legalization will cause will be catastrophic. The groups that push for legalization seem to have forgotten that it is not just the evening tokers they have been selling their "It is harmless and better for you than beers and cigs" propaganda that the youth of today believe it all. By the way, for all you people who think that government is bad... Right now, across all your US of A, Governors,, Senators, Congressmen are racing to legalize it in your states. Do you think they are doing it for the health reasons or the $$$?

                  • People really need to do some research and learn about this, it's a freaking plant for goodness sakes and by that alone it is rediculous that it is illegal. Since when is it OK to make NATURE against the law. WHEN weed is legalized it will be the best thing that happens to the US and Canada for a long time. Saving money, making even more money off taxes, saving the environment( there would be no need to chop trees down as hemp paper is much stronger and lasts way longer, not to mention you can produce a lot more paper in a shorter amount of time). Cannabis has also been found to have ANTI CANCER properties, and will alleviate pretty much any common illness. Oh and did I mention the effect it has on epilepsy? Just go watch DR Sanjay Gupta's documentarys. This plant literally has over a thousand different uses besides getting high, from making rope and clothes to dynamite.

                  • They legalized it in my state. There was news footage of a dispensary throwing free pot off of their roof. Want to know why pot should not be legal? Watch the video and just look at the type of crowd that shows up to an event like that...
