Tbh I don't think it's fair to say someone has "beaten Crota" unless they've ran the sword.
Hell, everyone [i]except the swordbearer[/i] is just a rocket jockey that pretty much stands in the back waiting to shoot on command.
PERSONALLY, when I'm running Crota, the swordbearer is [i]rarely[/i] the one that dies and causes a wipe.
Just my 2cents on this...
