I work as a welder at Bobcat, most of you have probably heard of it. At Bobcat we have a quota to meet, most of the time you have to hustle to get your numbers, my job was to finish trucks for the excavators, the trucks are 1800 lbs fully welded. One day at the end of my shift a co worker was messing around and raised my jig up with the hoist attached to the truck, when he lowered it back down, the hoist had gotten twisted and wasn't correctly placed to support the truck. As I stood there, I watched an 1800 lb truck tip towards me, I knew I was dead. I took one deep breath and closed my eyes. I opened them a few seconds later to see that the hoist had somehow supported it just enough not to fall off. It literally was hanging on by a thread (so to speak). Moving them when they're flat on the ground, if you don't have the hoist in the right spot it will fall off every single time. To this day I have no idea how or why it didn't. Or do I? Explain to me why 100/101 times the hoist had fallen out? Explain to me why when my life was in the fate of a hoist it didn't fail like it had all the other times? I'm a religious guy, I have a very strong faith in God. I have a tattoo on my arm that reads "Faith does not make things easy, it makes them possible". Coincidence? I think not.
