only the wall part is cannon, crota can be soloed and atheon can be two manned by warlocks

Building the wall is canon, it's spoken about in-game and in the grimoire. Making it possible to defeat Atheon is canon, mentioned in-game and in the grimoire (Kabr the Titan).
