Yes, I believe that Oryx got his 'Taken' powers when he was knighted and gifted the Osmium Throne. The Collective's resident Hive experts compares the Hive gods to the Ancient Greek Pantheons: Urrox is a demigod; Crota is a god; Oryx is a titan; and Eir, Ur, Xol, and Yul are primordial forces. There are many other gods though

Pretty interesting theory. Would it be fair to compare Guardians to demi-gods too? I could fancy myself a Theseus or Perseus. Or maybe more like Icarus given a second chance? I made the comment in another thread that I belive we will assault the Hive's "Mt. Olympus" (after a couple DLCs featuring Vex, Cabal and another Fallen one) where we will challenge their pantheon, taking the fight to them en masse. I still hope I'm right!
