We can't be Dr Shim because the story line we got stuck with is the exo story line. We weren't really "dead" just turned off. They cut the different story lines/missions for awoken and human characters out to make the release date. They also cut out all parts of the game we got that refer to our character as an exo so it wouldn't be confusing and also so it wouldn't look like they cut it out. I think the voice in the archive just assumes the only one who goes in there is Dr Shim and calls his name by default. I wish they'd given more information about him tho. It felt flat as hell to simply brush it off like our ghost does. The first time I played through, I thought "okay, I'm sure I'll meet this Dr Shim guy or hear more about him later on" but it never happened... Just another totally meaningless hole in the story due to parts cut out... I've heard of a lot of pieces that were cut, but never one actually about the Dr. I'm just assuming it was cut, due to how random it seems that he was even mentioned at all. Why couldn't the voice just have spoken to anyone without naming someone? Or the voice not existed at all? They cut shit to be lazy and then they were even lazy in how they cut it! Don't get me wrong, I love destiny, but I'm mad [i]because[/i] I love it so much... I want to love it more and I want to love a great story, not just fun game play.
