As someone who's starting Game Development in college on Wednesday, it's been a rather tragic if at least enlightening rollercoaster with this franchise. The gamer and the artist in me laments everything that's happened, especially what could have been. But if nothing else, it's serving as a cautionary tale for future reference. EDIT: At this point it wouldn't surprise me if Staten had a similar dispute with Activision, only far less public i.e. Activision did their damnest to bury the details so we'd never know.
