I really dislike this idea of 'us vs. them', where 'us' is a heroic example of an underdog wrongly mistreated by those in power while 'them' is some vague, antagonistic 'corporate' scapegoat only focused on getting as much money as possible.

It's a reality. Their motto is work less get paid more. And everyone pre ordering dlc or Constantly playing destiny are perpetuating their business practices.

Well the us here is the consumer, the them is bungie who sold all of their values and integrity for a contract with activision. Activision isn't even really a player here. They are the devil, everyone knows they are the devil and completely irredeemable.
