The fact is, based on the statement Bungie put out in 2010 regarding the contract, that they were to retain full creative control over their property and game, and that Activision would simply handle publishing and distributing. What this court finding shows is that Activision has had a wider level of control than anyone in the industry expected - down to having Bungie rewrite the story a month out from the supposed launch.

I believe that Activision would go as far as threatening Bungie with pulling out of the game, and Bungie knows they need Activision's wealth to put out a game like Destiny. The corporate world is very harsh and these are things that happen behind the curtain all the time. Activision's top priority isn't in making the game amazing, they just want to milk the entire game for max profits. Which, in turn, is a much more simplified story, room to grow, and lots of expectations that will be met LATER down the road. Something needs to be done about Activision, before Destiny ends up gaining another developer or two, like Call of Duty.
