AND THEY GAVE US THE MIDDLE FINGER!!!
The ODonnell vs Bungie legal battle is over and the truth prevail and is visible for all of Us to see and confirm that BUNGIE NO LONGER CARES FOR QUALITY, BUNGIE NO LONGER CARES FOR THEIR FANS, BUNGIE ONLY CARES OF PROFITS.
Marty stood against Activision decision to transform the musical score of Destiny from a gourmet dinner to a fast food meal.
Ex-Bungie composer Marty O’Donnell wins epic legal fight with former bosses.
Based on this information and how obsessed by quality and fans are Marty and Joseph Staten, We can imagine why Joseph also left Bungie and maybe that the Destiny original story theory is not so a theory but a reality. If Activision messed with the music then for sure they messed with the story. Even Marcus Lehto is gone.
Seriously, this is really disappointing, for the first time since Pathways Into Darkness Im disgusted with Bungie.
Marty, You have proven that You really cared for Us. Your place in history will always be bright and inspiring.
What a shame Bungie, really what a shame...

Ryan pretty much presented Bungie's butt hole for Activision to keep things all good between them. Pretty standard for people just trying to make money not a great product.

Hold on... Let me get my tin foil hat ready!

Bump!

Damn, well that says a lot. It's such a shame though. I remember watching the Bungie history vidoc they released around the time of halo:reach. They started as just a small group of friends making video games and marty was one of that group. That he's now been pushed out of the company for being unhappy with the state of the game tells me that the bungie we used to know really has gone. A tear shed for the memory of what bungie used to be.

DAMN I KNEW IT

Wow, sums it up. Screw Activision. Gaming is in its golden age, and big and small players alike are maneuvering like kings and queens in A Game of Thrones. Register now for our GamesBeat 2015 event, Oct. 12-Oct.13, where we’ll explore strategies in the new world of gaming.

Last sentence of this post reminded me of season 5 finale of games of thrones. SHAME

This is awful. I mean, I was upset when he was fired a while back but didn't know the details. I am not happy any longer. And I'm kind of happy that I can look forward to high quality games from Highwire, Martys new company.

Although my company has nothing to do with gaming I am having my media people and other exec’s study everything about this. This is a fascinating dumpster fire. Bungies’ publisher acts with impunity. Bungies employees either sue them or take their check for an inferior product. Bungies’ media handlers are either underpowered or uninformed. They don’t comment on their own forum. Sometimes…Many Times… They don’t even spin media on their weekly update. They release canned media through 3rd party web sites and dismissible sources. For the record, that is not guerilla marketing. That is ducking the pressure of 500 million dollars. That whole throw money at the screen thing would get most people fired unless you’re working for a company that has major labor assets publicly attacking the company already. Bungie already lost writers and musical talent. Imagine if they lost major game programming talent to go along with that??? I am looking forward to TTK. It’s either another dumpster fire I can learn from or it will be super awesome and I can learn from that. Either way, it’s a new meta game for me :)

Let's not forget that part of Marty's work is that crap Paul McCartney song on the jukebox, thank god the soundtrack got changed
-
Thank god he won.

Thanks for the link. Good article

Exactly

Um.. Marty's behavior was unacceptable. He deserved to be terminated.

another attention seeking douche bag muted tired of muppets on this forum

The way I take the situation is Bungie really wanted to create this beautiful dream of theirs but only activision could give them the funding they needed. And at first they backed Marty. But once he started making threats and being disruptive they kind of lost some respect for the guy. I understand why he did it and agree with his actions. However the road to hell is paved with good intentions. There was probably a more productive way Marty could have accomplished his goal. That being said Bungie holding back his shares and pay was probably all activisions suggestion. Considering they did suggest cutting him out of the picture. I think while Bungie regretted the whole thing they did it so that they could keep working on their dream game. I don't enjoy how everything went down. But I don't fault Bungie. and I enjoy what destiny is and will still buy any destiny dlc. This article changed nothing for me.

Marty stopped working hard because they were treating him like garbage. Why work hard for something that doesn't treat you well? You work hard for people that support you and work hard for you too. Being an employee isn't a one way street. Anyone that has been a manager in a positive working environment that gets positive results will tell you that. Leaders lead.
-
I don't care! I'm not even going to read the article, you lost me posting shit that has nothing to do with the game, it brings nothing to make the game better, you seem like a bitter fan finding anything to give you attention!
-
I mean this story makes everyone look bad: Activision with micromanaging and pressuring Bungie to do things they don't want. Bungie for putting its tail between its legs and not standing up for themselves. Marty for pouting and not working at all cause his music wasn't used and he wasn't allowed to publish it.

Edited by iWasBorn2bLegit: 9/6/2015 12:02:12 AMBungie has truly fallen. It's hard to believe that they would side with activision and tell O'Donnell to go f himself. I always knew Marty was cool and he has my respect for standing up for the gamers. He's just as awesome as his music. Check out his new gaming company.

Another moron who thinks he knows it all.

This has nothing to do with us or the game that shipped. It's over improper severance and the musical score used in a trailer. You trying to bend the facts to fit a narrative you already decided upon is worse than anything that happened in this lawsuit.
