No. Forcing a person to go against their beliefs in that way is a joke. The lgbt community has gone for the crotch shot and they know it.
There are already priests who will marry them, they are able to get married. What sick pleasure does it give them to lawfully force a person into an act they are uncomfortable with?
And for the record, in case you missed my posts; I am a militant atheist and support the lgbt generally.

The t's are pushing it... A bit...

How? We are barely being noticed by the public at large now. Of course it seems like we are "going to far".

Clerks issue licenses, they don't perform the ceremony you dope.

So it's not someone who is licensed to preform Christian marriage? I'm still pretty sure there is a current issue with priests being in a similar situation... Is this related or totally different?
-
No. They are a government representative that issues a license for a couple to get married within a certain time frame. The couple then has to seek out a person who is sanctioned by the state to perform the marriage. In regards to priests, no church or minister is obligated in the US to perform a marriage ceremony for any couple they don't wish to. A justice of the peace would have to.

Ok. I see your point. Shows my knowledge of the American marriage system. :-/
-
Basically the only thing this woman does is stamp a paper saying the couple has filled out the required paperwork to get married. She is claiming her religion prevents that. It's total stupidity.

Not quite the 'sacred ceremony' I was thinking of... (Regardless of how silly I see it as ^^) I can only agree.
