EVERY GAME WITH GEAR LEVELING SYSTEMS DOES THIS!!! If the same gear was used... Power creep would occur and no one likes power creep!

 • Destiny isn't like any other game out there, so comparisons are pretty pointless. And, at its core, it's still an FPS, so the best comparisons would be to other FPS titles, which makes Destiny's DLC habbits seem pretty ridiculous. Also, you power creep statement is irrelevant, because Bungie's already nerfing the gear that's too powerful. Not letting gear come forward to Year 2 levels is complete overkill. :P

 • The difference is NOT about how "massive" the game is. The difference is between franchises such as COD that release a completely new game every year and games, such as most MMO, that let you keep one avatar to carry through along multiple expansions. In that respect Destiny is just like an MMO and consequently needs a MMO style financing. Whether they deliver enough quality in the game is another question all together, and something everyone has to decide for themselves. I'm cautiously positive so far, as I've really not seen much yet, but I respect if you feel differently. I still don't see how they can finance an ongoing project as Destiny for 10 years, if they can't use the MMO business model.

 • That's the thing, though; Destiny is going to have sequels. You seem to think that the current game that we're playing right now is going to last for 10 years, but that's 100% not true (it was confirmed during the Marty O'Donnell case, too). The TTK expansion is just that; an expansion, not a sequel, but there will be sequels. :P

 • What I'm saying is that if they kept bringing new weapons in... They would have to make them better then the others for people to use them. Also, I know that Destiny is unique. That's why people like it. But the way the gear levels is what I'm talking about. You level up your weapons to make them better. If they didn't leave weapons behind, then the attack would just keep climbing and BUNGIE would keep having to make better things to replace them. Also, they are changing the way the game works for the most part. They want to give us a fresh start for this big change.
