I really should make my own youtube channel.
Considering this guy is all about PVP he doesnt know what he is talking about. Shit, most people who use titans dont know what they are talking about.
Luckily I have a few minutes before my meeting...
The common misconception here is that titans are the "tank" class... they are not... anybody remember what the titan is supposed to play like (inspiration of the design) like masterchief... remember that guy from halo who didnt have any supers and still took down like four armies with just a br and some grenades?
Titans are not tanks, as they are not crowd control characters, that role falls to the warlock... titans are...... wait for it.... (hint what was masterchief).... no? Tactical...
Yes, titans are meant to be tactical, the evidence is in their grenades!!! Flashbang (blinds), pulse (deters), lightning/spike (zones), suppressor (stops abilities) the magnetic grenade is really the only traditional kill grenade that the titan has.
Its super is also meant to be a way of detering or stopping enemies in their tracks. Bubbles are meant to be placed strategically and used as a means to reinforce your team, not sit in like a castle.
Titans are all about gun play, positioning, well placed grenades, and zoning. Again, it is the tactical class.
You only push, when you have the advantage and know they are weak. Even the exotics exemplify the tactical gameplay of the titan. Yet everyone thinks of this class as a tank...
Its not... the term titan means person of immense importance or stature. Not tank. Just because something is big doesnt mean it is all powerful, which is how the olympians defeated the titans.
If some of these people, stopped complaining about the short comings, and realized what the classes' true intent is, they would be better.
Titans: tactical gameplay. Warlocks: crowd controllers. Hunters: survivors/solo play

Thank you! I have never thought about the classes that way. I never considered Titans tanks or anything like that. But I couldn't put into words what their role is other than support (defender). Tactical fits them perfectly. Warlocks are definitely the Crowd Control class, but I think Hunters are little more than solo play. They are also the best Medic class due to their plethora of invisibility abilities.

Personally, I don't use Defender, but it should be set up just before the middle ground so that your team gets buffs while trying to take B or pushing to kill the enemy team. One tactic that was pretty useful was a Bubblebro using Saint-10 and setting up a bubble at the B doorway from the outside on the map Blind Watch. If you went through, you were blind. Since nobody was in the bubble, I found it to be pretty useful and smart because NO ONE on the enemy team wanted to waste their supers on the bubble alone. It was beautiful. These guys just need to think.

But how does this counter his argument for balancing? Just curious. He is saying Titans are at a disadvantage in crucible, but you are just saying that he is wrong because he assumes Titans are tanks but you don't explain how that counters his argument of Titans being at a disadvantage in the crucible.

Titans have a class called defender... Tank. I don't understand your argument. But I do agree that titans are not built like tanks. They were originally called the tank class however. Look it up.

Thank You! Someone who finally gets it! The bubble is not a fortress or anything close to it! It's meant to be used strategically! I use all 3 classes and I love the titan. But it is not a tank, it requires skill to use effectively, and I almost always end up at the top of the leaderboards with my 'BubbleBro'

Why does Titan have the most armor on its equippable pieces then? Why is it descriped as "the air of a rising god"? Why does it say "its shields and armor make it nearly invincible"? Sounds like a tank to me.

I think its just that... lore. Lore that doesnt fit in with the character and the abilities it was given. The lore says one thing, its abilities do another. Hasty writing in my opinion

I mean. Titans are defenders. Which sorta makes them tanks. They're supposed to be the ones that pop a shield when your fire team is in danger. I don't see the titan class as tactical at all. Sure they have grenades that blind and suppress but they all pretty much suck in comparison to other choices. Using a blind in PvE isn't all that amazing. In PoE yes, but raids i don't see it being that useful. Suppressor sure they are great but the time it actually takes to go off is ridiculous. Even in PvE it doesn't exactly do much. Stops a few adds from teleporting or throwing up a shield. But what really should be done with defender titans is making them actually feel like defenders. Our shield thing should be self activated so you could throw up a shield and go revive someone, the Bubble should actually feel safe in PvP and not a huge sign that says "Come kill me with your supers" They did intend to make titans a class that could protect a fireteam. They just didn't do a great job at it.

The definition of Titan doesn't help your argument one bit. Especially when you get the full definition (a titan is someone who is god-like, or powerful and influential in a certain field) instead of your biased one. So whether you like it or not, Titan tends to convey the idea of power. And Titans aren't tanks? Maybe in your imagination. Clearly in plenty of Grimoire and Armour pieces it conveys the idea that Titans are the powerhouse of the three classes i.e. the tank. They also come with the highest base armour statistic. But instead you use Master Chief and the majority of they're grenades as a weak comparison to base your argument upon, whilst ignoring the fact that technically speaking all of the grenades are tactical in their own way. Besides, those to say Titans can't be both tanks and tactical? And as Mr. Fruit said, arguing over it will get us nowhere. There are a plethora of statistics which back up the fact that Titans are the most underpowered Crucible Class in Destiny. Why you bother refuting facts is beyond me.

It doesn't even have Gabriel who is probably the best Titan player. that list is more about time played. Not saying those guys aren't skilled, but if you play more often you will be in that top twenty over someone who is better and plays a lot less often.

The fact is, Hunters are the best class and cruciblecentric players are going to play the best class, the rest will be under represented. That is the cold hard facts about all shooters, you play what's considered the best when you are a hardcore PvP player.
