Gah, you presented a logical argument man, bit I still have to disagree. I would take nova bomb over FoH almost always, the biggest upside for FoH is Blade dancer slaying tbh. And that comes with the Holy axion bolt grenade and a better melee :P
Defender has its strength and if the bubble is used correctly is pretty good, bit supers annihilate it, teammates crowd it and attract attention, people can slide in and shotgun you even if you're using blessing and Saint 14. And I'm quote simply not a sniper, although I understand weapons of light one shots are a force to be reckoned with (although I can't recall a time it's happened to me. Most people just pop them on points and hold out a shotgun until they get nova bombed. Or golden gunned. Or fist of havoced. Or even baldedanced.

Know an enemy is around the corner FoH, free kill. some one got the jump on you at close range FoH to survive next shot and get a free kill. Whole team of scrubs on heavy just looking at the box, free kills. Nova bomb shares a lot of similarities but Warlocks don't get the ridiculous amount of damage Resistance, it is also easy to miss a Nova bomb when some one blinks or they were to close to begin with and run underneath it. You can easily get shot out of it due to animation time as well. If there is a door way, Nova Bomb will find a way to hit the border of it and not kill anyone. If there is a small tarp hanging that shouldn't have physics to stop a Nova Bomb, let alone a bullet, well no one told Nova Bomb that, it will hit that tarp and make a pretty purple disco ball so the world can see your shame. I main Warlock and gave up on Nova bomb due to missing kills every few games.

That all comes down to user error, all I'm saying is I can do the same with any class, however blade dancer tends to net my fastest score per minute as it allows me to play very aggressive.
