I'm Christian but if it's the law and it's her job and she refuses to do it then she is in the wrong. She's taking this personal when in reality her state made the decision and not her. She's not betraying herself imo by issuing the marriage license

  • No here's where it gets grey. The government made it legal. Not the state. That's why people are pissed. There is a reason tha thee are state laws and federal laws. Like how some states sell pot. It's against the law federally, but the state does not recolonize the federal law.

  • Yeah. And this is a heated topic because I think the states should have more rights to decide but at the end of the day the federal laws supercede state laws. The constitution is the only thing that supercedes both. On weed the country has pretty much made up its mind so I think the government sees that and is letting states have jurisdiction as its only a matter of time before its decriminalized nationally

  • But she's betraying her religious beliefs, therefore betraying herself since she is under submission to them.

  • She's already betrayed her religion, she's had multiple spouses and an affair!

  • No. If she was gay then yes she would be a hypocrite. But this is someone else's life. She didn't make it law that they were allowed to wed, her state and this country did. It's not her choice. I personally do not agree with their lifestyle either but it shouldn't affect me it's between two people and I'm not one of them. And plus if it makes them happy who are we to take that away from them? I honestly wish it wasn't glorified on tv like it is but other than that it's none of my business
