Except the games do not work the same? Those games you can get away with it because you are only crushing AI's. There's actually little to know interaction between players in a way to kill each other (D3 was not made to but still has it). Since all you do is crush harder and harder AI's one needs super OP gear to make it easier otherwise it becomes a real grind. In Destiny the base stats of every gun are based around PvP interactions because the stats of the Players do not change. They are static so everything you do to guns or release have to abide by the static strengths of the players character. Hence, why power creep has been such a problem since the Dark below and has only been amplified to its maximum state of game -blam!-ery it is now in HoW. Another thing, the way Bungie has set up the loot system in the game means they need to periodically remove weapons from the loot table anyways which is why the game doesn't drop old gear. Up until this point there have been around 15 variants of purple legendaries of just about every type (Not including raids, PoE, Trails, Exotics). That is a massive amount of purples and that also isn't armor (purple armor doesn't actually mean anything), which has even more, about that's 135 weapons. That's 135 weapons that up until this point have only scaled out of the game through Bungie not allowing them to drop in the next expansion. 135 weapons that have to compete with every new weapon now. This is what you are missing when you make the comparison between the games. Those weapons scale out based on level, the new weapons always out power the old making them not usable or capable of being found. In Destiny every gun right now is as good damage wise and perk wise as every other. Making the only two things scaling the weapons out Bungie removing them from drop lists, and maximizing stats+perks. This system has caused so much power creep that the mass majority of weapons do not even remotely get used. You probably only see 30 maybe of the weapon pools see serious use. You see all this stuff and want it (even though I know damn well you don't use it). What you fail to see is how its actually killing the -blam!-ing game. How it kills the need for progression, how it kills balance, how it ruins the release of new content, how it cheapens the experience. If people paid attention HoW should be the biggest -blam!- NO to keeping the old gear I've ever seen.

  • Your logic is rather convoluted. Tell me something, is it actually worth the hassle for me to try conversing with you about this? Or is this going to be one of those cases where its whatever I say more or less gets ignored because not even God himself showing up eating a taco while juggling Nirvana could convince you to ever change your opinion about something?
