The Hive feed on worms that they swallow whole, worms which you can see in various Hive lairs. These worms, if left uneaten, mature into those moth-like things that fly around

I'm not sure. I'm not as well versed in this particular aspect of the Hive as others. AnonPig would know more

Thanks for the info. I usually do a lot of studying of hive architecture and biology. I use them for 3D modeling such.
