  • Yeah we got shafted there too, difference being though that £35 was standard price for a season price in the UK so no one battered an eyelid including myself, been paying £35 since mw2, £40 is not a normal price for dlc in the uk, it's the price of a new game, so for me that's unacceptable Dude if you are American and believe $63(£40)is a fair price for ttk...then put your money where your mouth is, give me the extra $23 and I will use it to by ttk....ha

  • I'm British and have a good understanding of how pricing works both here and internationally. Bungie are a business, first rule of business - make a profit. I understand your frustration, truly. But I personally don't think we've been shafted. I truly believe that bungie are under contract (and don't set the prices for content). They have their hands tied. That said, this isn't classed as dlc, it's classed as an expansion. Now I can't comment on if it's worth the money until I've played it. All I know is that vanilla and the 2 dlc packs we have had have cost me less than a penny in hours played. That to me is a fantastic investment. I've enjoyed 90% of my in-game experience on destiny. So let's say it's costs 2p (probably less) per hour of entertainment... I'm just saying mate, it's business. Business isn't successful unless you make profit. We, the community, can't say 'it's extortion' until we've played the content and realised if it's worth the money. Exchange rates, taxes and other hidden margins often raise the price of a product... Try importing a 6 pack of mountain due from the states, should cost $3 add the tax, it's closer to £10... Just how the world works.

  • They would still make a profit at 27, £40 is pure greed

  • I agree that the price difference is unfair but don't forget that our beloved government also want their 20% tax on top of that 27 quid, bringing it up to 33 quid. Sucks, I know.

  • Dude read everything I wrote, don't focus on the money. Remember bungie owe us, the community nothing. They own destiny, we don't. Granted were invested in the product. Try to understand its the cost of business. Bungie don't sit in a stuffy board room and say "how can we screw over our fans this week". They make informed decisions based on the majority, and their own experience. They engage us the community in a way no other studio does. But then, when that's all done with, they are bound by contract law with Activision. Let's say they breach the contract and give you what you want, Activision will have every right to fine/sue/pull funding. Look at the situation with maturity, logic and calm you'll understand - it's just business. If you don't like the product, or don't want to invest then don't. Nobody has said we've all got to buy ttk or we'll all be punished. They've said, this is the product (with additional secrets we won't talk about) this is the price, make your own decisions.

  • they have made a decision that they can charge more in the uk than anywhere else, that was a decision, apparently on release it was £27.99 on xbox market place only to be quickly taken down...that is a decision. I understand they must make a profit, but as a consumer I must make sure they do not walk all over me and charge what ever they like. i want to pay the same as Americans and europeans, thats all I want, and as a consumer I dont think thats unreasonable

  • You've obviously done little to no research on this and have no understanding of how currency works. I suggest you do research and learn about exchange rates. Australian dollars are worth more than the pound, and obviously the US dollar. I think (may be a bit out) that the $40australian ttk purchase equates to nearly $80 us exchange. Every market place ttk is advertised is 40 what ever currency.

AUD$40 = ~US$28 = ~£18 Australian's are saying that it's AUD$70, which is ~$50, which is also ~£32 So I guess you should do some research on exchange rates, as you (i think) are way out
