Because it's entertaining. Why do we go to the movies or watch other people play sports? I like video games, so why not watch people play them.

Because you can play them yourself, if I want to see a movie I don't sit down and watch a video of someone else watching it.

Yes i can play them myself, but I also have a limited income. There are games out there that I can't necessarily get. There's also the fact that I can watch my favorite yourtubers enjoy something that I love. They can provide entertainment that I typically can't get anywhere else. I look forward to coming home from work/school and seeing 10+ videos of content that I enjoy or might consider buying.
