Is the sword a heavy weapon, how does that work with ammo....

I would assume like the Energy-sword in Halo, or the lesser known Vibro Blade in Lost Planet, where the ammo is a "charge" and each swing costs a percentage of the total "battery". In this case picking up heavy ammo would probably add to your charge if that's how it works.
