I think this is all about G-Horn and thorn! Why we can't our hard collected exotics left behind? Why is this so hard? I understand the aspect of variety and combination with old guns and gear and the new ones. BUT ––> if you have G-Horn, you'll force yourself to use it! Then the game gets boring as hell like now. The gap between G-Horn and other exotics is sooooo damn big, that using other exo slots become fun-gameplay and less effective. There are no more options – really! To be honest to yourself… what are you doing if the situation (maybe a bossfight) gets harder or your fireteam gets in trouble? Yes, you change the fun-exo-playstile (like monte carlo / sniper / rocketlauncher) into fathebringer / sniper / G-Horn, take a synth and blow the problem away. Its effective but boring. The other exotics ar verry nice to play, without doubt. But after a whole year in a game with that lack of contend and gameplay variety i want new things! Why is it sooo hard to left the old gear behind and watching forward into year two, new adventures, new gear, new guns, new fun? Im beta and day one player, and after one year playing this game with that lack of content and again with the old vault of glas guns/ghorn im thirsty for new things like a lama in the desert gobi! Bye old stuff, hello new ones! They have to make a total brake / cut with year two! The only exotics that should get to year two are VEX and NECRO. So the older raids dont get obsolet and its a good choice to visit again and a good reward too. Now my question to all the crybabies… Do you really want to play up to 5 Years with the same guns again and again and again … like fathebringer/voc, G-Horn, thorn, wahhhhh… its sooooo boring! The fun and motivation in this game is to find new stuff, level up, explore, get better and fill up your NEW exotic storage and become legend again. Remember your self to the House of Wolve desaster: The new "raid-(arena)-gear" and exotics are extremely less effective as the stuff from the vault of glas! What did they do… they let you upgrade the old guns to the new level. Yes, this was nice, but at the end boring again, becaus whats the point to go into the arena or trials. For that crap guns? Nooo, if you upgrade your fathebringer, confluence, and so on, then you dont have to search for new stuff. And thats the same point with the exotics. I think they dont want to make the same mistake again in year two! Its good to left all the stuff behind ang get new ones. Its part of the game! what happens if you max out and play with old good stuff with the new attack level? Yes, ist boring and there is nothing left to do. Waiting for the next dlc? Please no! PS. sorry for my bad english. Its not my first language. Ill hope you can understand what i want to say to you.

  • All good I had no problems reading your comment. However I am specifically talking about year 1 exotics coming to year 2, not year 1 legendaries which is what the community is generally in favor of. Most of the community can agree legendaries can be left behind. Also, if you remember from the weapon tuning patch that is coming up they are going to be nerfing Gjallarhorn and Thorn to a great degree. They will also be nerfing the general stats of handcannons and other aspects of certain weapons as well as buffing the stats of other weapons. Link to the weapon tuning patch below: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/News?aid=13147 Ultimately exotics should not be left behind because they were too "overpowered". Exotics can easily be buffed or changed to become more valuable and useful to players or nerfed to become more balanced and fair against other weapons. If Bungie is going to be far more regular in updating exotics with buffing and nerfing. This will help create a balanced PvP and PvE environment to ensure that there is no "god weapon", except maybe for one weapon in TTK which they want to be like Gjallarhorn for a while. Even still the result of Gjallarhorn being "overpowered" was a result of Bungie's boss design not the players fault for having such a high demand and high use of Gjallarhorn on these bosses. They made them nothing but bullet sponges that walked around and did long distance damage so that made Gjallarhorn the best weapon to go to. With just some changes to how boss fights work, Gjallarhorn would not become the weapon of choice and it really would not be that difficult to implement those changes. Finally in regards to bringing year 1 exotics forward, if the player wants to use the same exotics for the full 10 years of the game why should anyone stop them from doing so? If they are having fun using those exotics why should they be forced to leave them behind? The whole purpose of this game to "make yourself legend" so why can't legends have the same exotics that they themselves find dependable and their weapon of choice. If you want to move on and play with the new stuff then go right on ahead, but all players should not be forced to do same. They have spent too long investing their time to get and upgrade their exotics to give them up at this point they are the central core of this game and should never be made irrelevant.

  • SO you want a cycle of putting dust on last year exotics and lower current and previous ones value each year around? No. That's stupid. Agree to the point of people using the same old OP load-out, but overall that's their choice if they want to make it repetitive for them all, let them. But, not having at-least half of the exotics to move forward with year 2 will end up being like year 1. And the cycle begins because who would want to play with year one exotics as they deemed not fit to play with, you'll end up using year 2 weapons, find the most OP this and that and then the trend begins all over again. More equal variety that is implemented into this type of game is where it needs to be heading then hopefully we'll see more guardians use various different load-outs whether it's year 1 or year 2.
