Was the heart of the black garden actually a vex God? And are the vex and hive servants of the darkness or is the darkness just a general term for our enemies?

The Heart was viewed by the Vex in the Garden [i]as a god.[/i] Because worship provided the best outcome for them. It is not a god to the Vex in the same way Oryx is a Hive god, but it is something worshipped as a god. The Vex do what is best for them, so they calculated that worship got the best effect when they found the Heart.
