TTK UK Price: £42, Fallout 4 UK Price: £42. Unacceptable.
First of all, I don't even live in the UK and this bugs me. Second of all, there have been many posts about this before but I feel the need to make sure this gets proper attention. Third of all, bungie needs to make an official response to this. Fourth of all, here are the statistics, courtesy of amazon.
Fallout 4 US: 60$ UK: £42
TTK US: $40 UK: £42
£42 does NOT equal $40
And before anyone says this is a result of "taxes" explain to me why fallout 4, or ANY OTHER GAME does not have this issue.
Halo 5 US: $60 UK: £42
Black Ops 3 US: $60 UK: £44
AC Syndicate US: $60 UK: £44
MGSV US: $60 UK: £41

Contacted Activision - Their response was speak to Bungie. Forum Posts, Tweets to Deej, Destiny Help and Destiny the Game, plus questions on Facebook page - Their response is not to respond.

1 ReplyAgreed. A lot of TTK 'features' are also just fixes to issues which were wrong with the game in the first place, and it's been OUR FEEDBACK which has lead to the 'improvements'. So as a thanks for our time and constructive feedback as Y1 players, they want £42...cheers Bungie/Activision.

The £42 you quote is for the Legendary Edition which is the complete Destiny + all 3 DLCs. Of course the digital TTK on it's own is near enough the same price at £40 anyway which is just taking the P. https://www.change.org/p/bungie-activision-price-destiny-fairly-in-the-uk

2 RepliesThe real kicker for me is the fact that the digital download was presented as the cheaper way to keep up to date if you've already got all the content. But with the UK pricing it's so close in price to the physical legendary edition that it makes me wonder how much worth Activision places in their content. No doubt this has been said before, but it deserves repeating. UK Physical Legendary - £44.00 ($69.13) US Physical Legendary - £38.16 ($59.98) from amazon.co.uk and .com That's not too bad a price difference, £6 difference is pretty standard in the current climate. Where it gets interesting is when you look at the discounts being offered with the digital TTK. US Digital TTK - £25.45 ($39.99) So that's a 33% saving compared to getting the legendary edition. UK Digital TTK - £39.99 ($62.83) Which gives us 10% saved compared to the legendary edition. The US version of the digital purchase is actually worth considering. Unfortunately Activision math took over for the UK pricing. And that's why I'll be waiting for the legendary edition to fall in price, and I'll pick it up for peanuts somewhere down the line.

For Bungie to make a response, they first need to acknowledge the issue exists, The only response so far has been that they are happy with the price and they don't understand foreign currency (unless of course not doing a currency conversion would mean they lose out). And for all those saying Activision not Bungie, why then do other Activision games manage to do the conversion? If it wasn't a Bungie decision they could say so, but remain silent. Leaving us to draw our own conclusions. Also yes it is DLC, try and find it under games under PSN or Xbox stores and it isn't there, look under DLC and it is. It is a third of the size of original game, and appears to make most of the vanilla content and previous DLCs totally pointless for existing players.

It's funny how treating British Pounds or Australian Dollars as numerically equal (1=1) to US Dollars is okay since they (Activision / Bungie) stand to rake in more cash due to both of those currencies having greater exchange values. But when it comes to a currency that has a lower exchange value (like the Peso, for instance) - suddenly they KNOW how to do a proper exchange conversion. EDIT: For reference, since I mentioned ... Xbox Live Marketplace cost of Taken King Digital Collector's Edition for Mexico = $1335 pesos. This is actually a tiny bit LESS than the US price of $80 when you do the exchange. Additional taxes that UK and Aussies have to put up with are a given here - and as Jabberjay626 points out - still don't add up to the numbers that are being passed off to those across the pond and down under. I'm in North America so not really affected by the pricing nonsense as much (though I still think we've ALL been getting shafted on the DLC pricing scheme from day one) - but it's interesting to see how when it stands to make them more money, Activision / Bungie doesn't seem to know or care what an exchange rate is.

Yes here in holland. TTK €40. FALLOUT 4 €49.95. guess what im NOT buying. Id rather pay 9.95 extra for a full game then 40 for a game full of reskinned weapons and rehashed areas which will be dead 2 weeks after release.
