As you can see I think there is a real call to enable year one destiny players to be able to continue to level up their existing gear in all future destiny releases. From a game design perspective you really have nothing to lose... Enabling this feature would increase diversity of gameplay for all and keep all old content relevant. Players bored of they old gear can enjoy the more powerful taken king guns while older players attached to their existing gear can continue to use any gun or armour they see fit.You also would be making a lot of year one players feel like their time playing the game was worthwhile.
