Actually, according to IGN, the year one weapons including exotics will now max out at 180 attack value. So they are reducing it. Furthermore, the key word is viable. Sure I can equip it, but it won't be very useful. Just like you could go to a gunfight with a pointed stick, but you won't be very effective or useful. I also get the feeling you are smart enough that you already understand all this, and you are just being a difficult desticle.
