Gjallarhorn being left behind is actually a good thing.

Gjallarhorn getting left behind is great. This means one rocket launcher won't rule them all. I got my Ghorn within the 1st month of launch, so I'm not one of those haters. Everything I did was Ghorn this, Ghorn that, we need more GHORNS! It was a great weapon, but it's time to move on. Who knows there might be a new RL with WPRs. And if you're that upset that it isn't getting an upgrade, maybe you should learn to play without a crutch.

Until Xur sold it I've managed a whole year without a gally, therefore to me its not really a big deal. What I don't understand is... if its getting left behind as bungie say then why nerf it? My guess is we haven't seen the last of the old gjallerhorn
