Bungie have said our characters will stay with us, so out weapons may, but I get your point. But what's the difference between leaving weapons on year two to leaving weapons in year 3?

It's DLC. Bungie also said they want to like the look and feel of our weapons. What if I don't like the look or feel of my weapons in TTK. What if the new raid isn't as good as VoG. Then I don't want to do the new raid I want to do VoG, but the only way to get good weapons is the new raid. What if they do it again in year 3 or 4 or 5. Then no one would invest time in their game because they know it would be pointless. -

It's not being removed from the game, and it won't be any worse off for not being carried on to year two (aside from the patch). Gjallarhorn and the other exotics will be as good for year 1 content as they are now. You can basically keep on doing the same thing, or do the same thing but with new stuff AS WELL. they are not forcing you to buy TTK and/or deleting/making useless your old exotics

Why would you want to do VoG? For weapons you'll never use? Armor you'll never use? Again the only way to get good gear is the new content. They aren't just making the exotics irrelevant they are making [u]Year 1[/u] irrelevant. -
MMO style games change loot over time, if you don't like that, then this type of game is not for you

For fun? You know, the whole point of video games being for fun and entertainment? I don't understand, you just said you want to do VoG, but now you're complaining that it's irrelevant? Content will become inevitably become irrelevant loot wise unless they keep changing the loot. What would be the point of playing new content of the old content game better rewards? IMO, vanilla gear was a bit too good, hence it still being used in Endgame content. I'm confused about what you're annoyed over. Sounds like you just want to keep playing year one content and you want it to always give the best loot, which sounds pretty boring to me

I want them to give the [u]same[/u] level of rewards basically bump VoG up to 40, CE up to 40, with gear with the same values as TTK's raid. I just got all of the VoG armor and honestly it's the best looking armor in game. I probably would still use Sleeper Simulant and other VoG items. Those clearly are not the norm now but they are still useable. Once TTK comes out they will become useless. I'm not one of the people who uses fatebringer/Gjallarhorn/Thorn. -
I would also like to see some higher level versions of the old raids, but the rewards shouldn't be the same level as the new raid. The incentive of new content is better loot, and to make loot better than VoG they have to either keep VoG at a lower damage or make it even more powerful, which would make them OP. As I said before the vanilla weapons were too good. Plus do you really want to wear and use the same gear for another whole year? I think that sounds pretty dull

No, I don't want to wear the same thing over again. But I also don't want the new stuff all the time either. They could make year 2 versions of the old raid stuff to renew the feeling of getting something new. -
