Destiny 2 is already in the works and will probably be announced next year and dare I say be released September of next year. And your example is flawed since enemies are leveling alongside with us and weapon damage is locked to the lvl of the activity. A 34 weapon does the same damage in VoG as a 30 weapon. Defense is the thing that increases and makes a difference in old activities
