YES. What is the point in nerfing some of the exotics if they are being made useless anyway? (I mean besides Thorn in pvp.) Exotics are the hardest things to collect in the game, you can only have 2 equipped at once, and they'll still remain collectible in year 2 (or at least I'm assuming so, it would be another problem all-together if they made certain exotics unobtainable). Now should year 1 exotics be made automatically on par with year 2? No. However we have a system now that can make us work for our year 1 to 2 upgrade. Infusion. Just add infusion to all exotics in the game and then everyone is happy. Bungie, I have friends who are seriously considering not buying Taken King for the sole reason that they can't bring their hard earned exotics into the next year. Please reconsider.
