I'd imagine that would depend on the particular DLC specific content you acquired it from.
Pre-TTK DLC would be the old style I would presume, then it can be picked up as the year2 version via the Blueprint interface.
TTK content itself would drop the new year2 version, but again, I'm presuming that is how it would work.

It's how vog works. Only drops original exotics. Can't drop for instance dragons breath.
