To answer a question with a question, for all the guns that you get today is there any use for shards?
No because they are built on a different idea than what came before, this is the same. We all need to lay down a reef and bury 97% of Y1 stuff as its all deliberately dead.

Is not about carrying or using any year one gear into TTK. - Is it still worth the time and effort to grind for etheric light just to reach level 34, considering that the starting level for the TTK content will be geared to level 25? - How will the current materials transition over once TTK is released? Specifically - will these materials still be used in the upgrade process of year 2 gear?
