If you boot up Destiny for the first time at level 1, you will need to play through the original story missions and everything first before you unlock the Taken King anyway. But seriously, if you jump into Destiny now, and ONLY want to play TTK, then you don't even know half the story, so you would want to play the first half.

You really don't understand how Destiny works do you....... Not sure if you know, but all Story missions have a minimum level. If you jump into Destiny for the first time when The Dark Below released, or House of Wolves released, you would need to level up first before you could play the first story mission. If you are just going to keep repeating yourself, don't bother replying. What you are talking about is not an "issue", it is common -blam!-ing sense, and anyone who calls it an issue lacks that.
