Don't you find it a bit weird that Crota kind of looks like one of the Taken?

Not really. In case you're confused, Oryx is hive, but his army is taken. It's sort of like Christianity. Jesus was Jewish, but his followers were Christian. (I'm not Christian, but I'm pretty sure this is correct)

Crota is hive Oryx is hive Oryx's army is taken. The taken consists of all races (fallen, hive, Vex, and cabal) I believe. But they're just under some sort of mind control from Oryx.

Right, but what I'm saying is that Crota has a few strong resemblances to the Taken. I'm wondering if this was intentional.

I don't think you understand. The Taken army consists of many different races. The only difference between a taken, let's say, vandal, and a regular vandal is that the taken vandal will have a whitish glow, and have a new ability. I don't see how Crota can have any resemblances.

I don't get how he looks taken. I don't understand at all. How can he look like a taken when: 1) They all look extremely different. And 2) He looks nothing like any of them, except for the taken knights I guess.
