I'm speaking as a gamer right now, not as a streamer or Mentor or anything else. I'm also not going to take sides, just share my opinion.
When it comes to streaming, private property/IPs, and anything similar to those (YouTube, a forum, etc) the creator has the right to silence whomever they please. They have the right to filter their feed as they want without a given reason. You could say "You have nice eyes" and they could permanently ban you for that. Why? Because they can. If they feel antagonised by a viewer, there's no reason for them not to block that viewer.
I don't think it's a matter of being sensitive, which isn't a bad thing, but wanting to cut out as much hate as possible, since they receive a lot. It's easier to block it out than to have to deal with it one way or another.

Do u even play destiny? Ur characters blowwww

Yet he probably still knows significantly more about the game than you do.

As a mentor, you should condone their actions of people paying them.

Wonderful name with an eloquently put post.

Drake is that you??
if so you killed meek
Good post. This is no different than going to a comedy club and heckling the comedian and being shocked you were kicked out. The comedian is not going to stop his show to talk to you and coddle your "wittle ego" till you feel better. You are in their Glass House...put your stones away or you will get cut.

Edited by King o dentists: 9/18/2015 9:46:00 AMNo ones saying he didn't have the right to do it though.. People are saying Broman is a man child meatball looking motherfûcker who can't take one ounce of criticism, (criticism that needed to be mentioned, how can things improve if any criticism is immediately shut down?) Aside from all this I personally feel like watching a full grown man shout and scream over a video game to be the single most cringe thing I've ever experienced, he belongs to a generation of hyper sensitive, low testosterone (hence his fat ass) man children. And you say you're not taking sides lol, you wouldn't have to mention that at all if your post read like it wasn't taking sides... yet it's clearly leaning towards the favour of Broman and his modus operandi Everyone do yourselves a favour just stop watching them it's a massive waste of your time and I know there isn't one gamer out there who enjoys playing a game less than watching someone else play, 'twitch money' come on, what an arrogant twat, tell you what if he tried to punch me at a convention he wouldn't be able to make twitch videos for sometime, maybe we should encourage him into violence so someone can kick his fat ass. Anyway this ^ Charlemagne is the true opinion of the community minus a few diçk riders obviously (who do you think is giving him that 'twitch money'). Edit: wow this is long sorry everyone, in summation Broman can suck his own chode

Easy way to fix it.... Don't watch their channels and let other people do what they want to with THEIR (not yours) time and money.
-
I don't watch them, and for the most part it's not 'their money' its 'their parents' money loll
-
Where are you in-game? Did you leave everything to your Russian friend Ras?

For some reason whenever I read your posts I have the voice of my_name_is_byf in my head.

Edited by Mr Ilax: 8/21/2015 10:49:31 PMI agree that the streamer has a right to ban people for whatever reason they feel like. The issue is if Bungie should be advertising these streamers that don't act professionally.
Also I always enjoy reading your insight on subjects you decide to post on.
You just made this whole topic a lot of sense.
-
You take the good and the bad when you are anointed as the face of a gaming community. You shouldn't just ban them.
-
Sad part of the community here :'(
-
Last paragraph just sounds like someone being overly sensitive.
-
Buuuuuuu being sensitive.
-
It's all about the $! Someone sees you on their twitch stream or what have you and you pose a threat to their views, subscribers, etc.. money. People would rather be passive aggressive than to confront people.
-
It's like they get their money from viewers/ subscribers, then they say -blam!- you!
-
So Streamers have the right to shut people up who dislike/disagree with them?
-
Even on sites like this, so do you. If you don't like what someone is saying to you, you can mute them.
-
It just doesn't seem like the right way to go about things. Wouldn't it be better in the long run to acknowledge problems and deal with them rather then shut them out and hope they go away?
