What power??? If bosses were challenging this whole power creep thing wouldn't even be an issue. Pvp wise combined arms is perfectly balanced. All weapons shine where they are supposed to. And it's not what you said. It's how you said it. Weapon ascension is the only thing that brings variety into this game. In normal games they get rid of the old stuff for better new stuff. As in the new stuff is pretty much the old stuff but better. But in this game since they have gotten rid of so many perks and perk trees we aren't getting better stuff. We are just getting stuff.

What? So you're assuming that the new weapons won't be as good? Hmm, I'm going to disagree with you there. We haven't used the new weapons yet, so how would we know?

My point is just that. Bungie says they have "powerful new gear" for us to go out and get. My argument is this. If the new gear IS worthwhile then what would it matter if we kept our old gear??? People are going to get new gear regardless of whether the old one is ascended or not. So why force them??? The first assumption will be that the new guns won't compare if the old ones are kept relevant. Plus seeing as how when they bring out new guns they completely get rid of old ones (perks, perk trees and all) then we aren't really getting variety. Just a flop in what's the go to guns.
