I reckon in PvP, if you are running sunsinger (for example) then solar weapons do more damage to you, Striker, arc weapons hurt you more and Defender, Void weapons are your bain, (not a lot more, just a bit more) Even in Trials. That way, people would err more into the element of a weapon, than just using Thorn or TLW
