There is no possible way for you not to hate Activision. They ruined the whole story, split everything to DLC, and fired some of the veteran Bungie developers for no reason!!

  • All of this is untrue and without proof it'll remain a lie. What actually happened is destiny was around half way through development when bungie needed funding after Microsoft fired them, bungie went to Activision for funding. Shortly after Activision became publisher they had creative differences with bungies lead story director (hence lack of story) this was around a year before release the lead story director leaves. So bungie and Activision both decide the only way to save destiny last minute is to cut the game up and salvage what they could. Some of the cut content was put into the dlc (half of crotas end and omnigul strike and the taniks strike) almost all of house of wolves was re done and most of crotas end guns were either new or re skinned guns from the base game that was cut content. Activision didn't chop up the whole game and throw it in dlc and didn't fire anybody. Your facts are completely wrong and are points made by ignorant YouTube haters.

  • No fanboy. The lead story designer left very mysteriously. He wasn't fired but he was definitely discouraged with what was going on in the development of Destiny. Activision must have ruined his perfect story that existed in 2012-2013 and split it up into DLC. Activision did fire Marty O'Donnell. He said he was fired by "Bungie's board of directors without cause". That is his legal way to say, "Yeah I got fired by Activision for no -blam!-ing reason or explanation". He's prob not allowed to say Activision so he had to say Board of Directors.

  • Tru but either this is the truth that bungie fired the lead guy that was developing destiny and things started to fall apart or bungie blatantly release a game that is laughable and can easily be called a Year One Beta. I prefer to believe the first because thinking about the second makes me realize that millions of people got screwed over by a company that just didn't give a -blam!-.

  • Activision couldn't invest anymore money into destiny and they couldn't delay it another year. So they salvaged what they could. Look at it from the view point of a publisher and a developer okay. They spent near $500million on this game that's over 2x what activision funds call of duty with their biggest seller. $500million that's a lot of money that is about to be down the drain. And it wasn't just a "oh he left cut it up" it was a decision made over a months time and it probably wasn't an easy choice. But people needed to be paid and bungie had to pay activision back. Personally I only blame the story writer who left because many other employees followed him and he should of put up with it until destiny was finished. He's the reason the story lacks content, he's the reason the game was cut up, and he's the reason we had to pay for some of the content that was cut.

  • Not trying to be an ass but what ever happened it's still bungie's and Activision fault. Seriously This is their job. I know things are never perfect in the world but u can't tell me destiny is a 500 million dollar game. If so what the hell really happened? Where did all the money go? You have to admit something about Destiny when it first came out just didn't feel right. It was almost as if what we were playing wasn't even worthy of being called a full game. Even without the story it lacked so much content, too much.

  • Lol I just told you what went wrong. They had to cut a lot of content because the voice acting wasn't finished and the story wasn't finished so they had to chop it up. When the writer left they couldn't keep majority of the content because they had no idea where he was going with it all because his whole team left with him. Its one thing to replace a story Dev its another to replace his whole team in 2 months to finish a game only half way done a year before release

  • Oh really? I thought nobody actually knew for sure what happened and was just speculating. I read a while back there's no actual proof that happen.

  • Majority of it was put together on public records. The funding was all public (majority of it) and around specific times it shows a dramatic drop of funding being supplied to specific accounts (accounts connected to bungie and other things that funded destiny) and public employment records showing that withing a week of the lead story writer leaving it showed many of the employees also quitting shortly after. Obviously some of it is portioned with speculation but after many rumors started floating around the parts of speculation now being used mixed with the facts make the most sense. Not to mention when bungie is asked questions related to this speculation its never denied just avoided.

  • Gameplay of the European Dead Zone and Osiris himself on Mercury gameplay in a 2013 trailer. All of that most likely to come in Destiny 2 or Expansion 3 or 4. I do have proof.

  • Dark Below and HoW areas you were able to glitch into, gameplay with weapons and areas from TDB and How in early trailers.

  • Yes. Unfinished concepts and concept art ≠ finished content that was locked on disk
