Dude ur gonna pick some green weapon in the new expansion that does like 380 damage and has new perks. U wont need ur old weapons.

I don't want "stronger" weapons; I want new weapons! Bungie has no business calling TTK an "expansion" if it gets rid of previous content. That's not "expanding;" that's replacing.
-
Nothing is going away. Its simply not possible to ascend. Everything is there except ur old weapons. Dark below did this with previous legendaries.

Bungie is forcing players to move on by essentially giving all of our current gear an expiration date in its useability. That's like sealing the gas tank on my car, and telling me that I "don't need to get a new one, because it still runs fine," even though you know full well that my car is destined to run out of gas. Yeah, I got to drive it on previous travels, but I won't be able to drive to any new places. Also, telling me I can "use it in old content" is a terrible excuse for an argument; 300 weapons were designed for Vanilla content, yet 365 weapons were still clearly more effective, because DUH. Why the hell would anyone keep using old weapons in old content when they have better guns? :P Either way, our current weapons will be all but useless in the next DLC.
-
Dude we are getting a shit ton of weapons. Like more than we have now.
-
1. That has no effect on my arguments, either way. Just saying. ;P 2. They've said TTK will have more gear than at release, sure, but not more than we have currently, which is an important distinction. And, again, most of this "new" gear will be replacing current gear, man. The amount of gear will be largely unchanged, and does very little to add any diversity to Destiny. (Which makes it a piss-poor excuse for an "expansion") For example; imagine everyone was painting with Red, Green, and Blue paint, and suddenly everyone's paint was replaced with Yellow, Orange, and Purple paint. Does that add "diversity" to everyone's paintings? No, because everyone is still painting with the same colors. DX

Never mind
-
You still dont get it do you ?
-
What's there not to get. We stop using old weapons and use new ones.

"Dude we are getting a shit ton of weapons. Like more than we have now." just like attila explained, there not adding content, there replacing it, also, if you don't want to take some year one gear along your journey that's fine then don't, that's your choice, but some people do, this dlc is the dark below all over again, every one looks the same, -blam!-ing great. If bungie doesn't want us to use year one weapons they have to make the new ones better, give us a reason to use them, but don't force us to, just like no one uses POE weapons cause they're -blam!-ing shit.
-
Well, that's a new argument for dropping our old gear. It's still a stupid argument, but at least it's new.
-
Imnot completely on board with losing our weapons but hey, new weapons
-
So? Could you explain to me how making my pre-TTK weapons (some of which I just got) obsolete enhances my experience in this game? Or how keeping those weapons up-to-date would detract from anyone's? Further more, how does keeping old weapons up-to-date with an already existing mechanic get in the way of us getting more weapons? I'm not being sarcastic, those are actual questions that nobody has yet been able to answer. Yes, I'm happy that we're getting new weapons. But if you came by and blew up my Civic and gave me a new Accord, I'd be pissed because I loved that Civic. I had a feel for it, I liked the way it handled just fine, and I hate having choices made for me.

I hear crickets..... I don't think he can come up with an intelligent response to why our year 1 weapons should be made useless. Then again neither can I. =D
