I recently acquired Thunderlord from a Crucible match on the winning team; I placed dead last. Do you think I earned that? I got Heart of The Praxic Fire from a nightfall where I was dead most of the boss fight. Did I earn that?? No, I did not earn either of those weapons. Get off your high horse and be happy that people can get these rare weapons.

They arn't rare because xur sells them?

Exotic is the rarest item classification, ergo they are rare weapons regardless of whether is Xûr selling them or not.

But they are not rare? Doing the weekly heroics on all 3 characters every week allows you to buy every exotic weapon every week, there a some legendaries that are rarer that exotics simply because xur doesn't sell them.

If you can't even stay alive in a nightfall or do well in PvP then you most likely get carried for strange coins. So do you earn anything ?

You're perfectly right. I didn't earn either of those, that was the point. You don't earn anything in Destiny; you get lucky. That's how the game is set up

Also those were two instances, I tend to be a really mediocre player in general, only been top of crucible leaderboard a few times. So I don't necessarily suck, I'm just not good. I didn't deserve the exotics I got, I'm the first to admit.
